Access to international databases
Using computers, students and teachers have access to international databases, either provided by the Central University Library or purchased by our College for research projects.
Public Administration program students have access to specialized laboratories for courses and seminars that require technical support (specializing in statistical analysis software or Internet access, for example).
The Department features two labs (with one currently under construction), a multimedia lab space, classrooms equipped with projection systems and two rooms outfitted with video conferencing and simultaneous translation technology..
The library was founded with the support of the Social Science Curriculum Development administered by IREX / ACLS and sponsored by the USIA. The library has received donations from Soros Open Society (the entire Soros library book fund was moved, at the time of its closure, to the library of our faculty), TEMPUS program, USA Council of Cluj-Napoca, and Polirom Publications. At this time the College library has some 14,000 volumes – a number that is continuously increasing – on issues such as political theory, international relations, research methods in the social sciences, statistics, media, and public administration. Here is a small selection of the many volumes and publications available to students:: Polis Magazine; Review of Social Research; Official; Public Opinion Barometer; World Politics; SAIS Review; Journal of Political Behavior; Journal of Communication; Journal of Central Europe; Law and Society; International Security; and The Economist.
